Studio Three: The Feminine

Dancing on Behalf of Women, Girls & the Feminine

When we dance on behalf of something as we do in InterPlay, we honor it. We hope and pray for its well being and we come to the theme with all the resources of our body, mind, and spirit.

  • Do you remember the feeling of self confidence and freedom you had as a young girl dancing around your house or singing along with the radio or television performers? Do you sometimes wonder, what happened to that girl, to that self-confidence?
  • Do you appreciate the support you feel when you are in a conversation with other women about what matters to each of you? And what a difference it makes in your life when the support of other women is missing?
  • Do you believe that the qualities labeled as feminine need to be used more often by people of all ages to help us make a world that works for everyone? Are you looking for a way to be a part of such a movement?

If you answer yes to any of these questions, you are in the right place. Our dance takes us back, before that creative core was required to cover up its playful joy, its enthusiastic effervescence, and empathetic connection to all of life. We want to reclaim those qualities for ourselves and honor them in one another. We also remember our female ancestors, and the innocent young girls who, even today are victims of cultures and religions who do not honor the gift of the girls and women in their midst. To aid you in this endeavor you will find in this studio a dance, resources, a song and dance, a story and a workshop. Reclaiming & Celebrating Your Inner Girl Dance
